Darksiders 3 Announcement, Trailer, and Screenshots!

If there’s one thing that could get me hyped enough to write a blog post after months of silence, its DARKSIDERS 3!

Earlier today, THQ Nordic announced that Darksiders 3 is officially in the works (their re-branding was a pretty big clue imo, but I digress). After literally YEARS of leaving fans in the dark, Nordic finally shined an extremely exciting ray of light on the Darksiders franchise.

Darksiders 3 is being developed by Gunfire Games, a team composed of a good handful of the ex-Vigil Games developers who worked on the original two games, so we know this third installment is in good hands. SO FREAKIN HYPED!

Darksiders 3 was announced via an official reveal trailer on IGN First. A few snazzy screenshots and images were posted as well, which I’ll include in the gallery below.

The Darksiders 3 reveal trailer displays a fierce, magenta-haired Fury approaching the Charred Council. If you’re not up to date on the Darksiders series, Fury is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse and is the sister of War and Death.

War makes a cameo in the trailer as well. He’s bound by chains, which suggests that this game takes place during his imprisonment just before he’s unleashed back onto Earth in the first Darksiders.

There’s currently no sign of the fourth horseman, Strife…at least not yet. Assuming this game is contemporaneous with Death’s excursion in Darksiders 2, it seems unlikely that Death will make an appearance, but so little is known about the game at the point that anything is possible.

I’ll be doing a more thorough breakdown of the trailer and what we know about Darksiders 3 in the coming days, so stay tuned!

Channel Update – PvZ Heroes & More!

Welp, after neglecting my poor blog for most of the year, I figure it’s about time I update you all on what’s been going on with me lately. It’s been mostly gaming-related stuff, and things are looking up for the most part.

Work it gurrrl

First off, I got a new job! Well, it’s actually the job I did earlier in the year, only now I’m with a different company. A couple months ago, I signed on with Greenlit Content as a Senior Writer, where I basically write about video games all day long. As easy as you may think that sounds, it’s actually quite a lot of work. As a result, I’ve had to slow down on my YouTube uploads because I simply don’t have adequate time or energy after work to record/edit videos for the week. I’m still plugging away at YouTube, just much more slowly these days.

PvZ Heroes & EA Funzies

PvZ-Heroes-Key-Art-Strangeluv-Gaming

In other news, I was invited by EA to their HQ here in California to preview their latest mobile game, Plants vs Zombies Heroes, about a month ago. Several other content creators were invited as well, including ZeroxFusionz and MoonLiteWolf. It was awesome finally meeting Zero for the first time after all these years of internet-friendship. We all learned how to become better content creators while having fun with this addicting CCG. The three of us had a blast, and I just wish that they lived closer to me so we could all collaborate on videos and partake in more karaoke shenanigans. 😋

I have since bought a tablet and adapter setup to start recording PvZ Heroes, so hopefully I will get that going sooner than later. I’m still sticking with Garden Warfare for now, at least while PopCap regularly posts updates for it.

IndieLuv

Lastly, I’ve been mulling over a video series for a while now that involves casual reviews of indie games. My current obsession with Planet Coaster has reignited my interest in doing such a series, so we’ll see if I can make it happen before the month is over. If you have suggestions for some indie games you’d like to see me cover on my channel, please let me know!

Blood and Wine: Everything You Need to Know

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion is just a week away! HYPE MODE ENGAGED. I’ve put together this video to catch you up with the latest details on Geralt’s final adventure. In the video, I discuss the new Toussaint region, new monsters, new game mechanics and more.

Just as a quick overview, here’s a list of some important details you should know about Blood and Wine ahead of time:

  • Recommended level to play Blood and Wine is around 35 (or 64-ish for an NG+ playthrough).
  • Max level cap has been raised to 100.
  • Over 90 new quests, and 40 points of interest. Map is roughly Velen size.
  • Geralt gets his own damn vinyard, named Corvo Bianco. So jelly.
  • 20 new monster types, most of which are vampires. Pack some Black Blood.
  • Over 100 new Armor sets and 30 new weapons, including Witcher Gear.
  • Witcher armor now available at Grandmaster quality.
  • New dying mechanic to change armor color. And yes, pink is an option.
  • The armor sets from Witcher 1 and 2 are available.
  • New UI coming as an update.
  • New mutations that enhance existing abilities.
  • In-game Skellige gwent deck.

There’s a ton of other new features that I won’t mention here.  If you don’t have the expansion pre-ordered already, I suggest you do so, especially if you want to get the limited edition physical Gwent cards. I’ve linked a tutorial below in case you want to know how to buy the physical Gwent card sets.

I plan on making more Blood and Wine videos after the expansion is released, so be sure to check back for more updates.

Dark Souls Easter Egg in PvZ: Garden Warfare 2!

I love stumbling upon hidden easter eggs within games, especially when they reference other games that I really enjoy. From Wind Waker to Dragon Age, the design team at PopCap have been really good at hiding awesome video game references throughout both Garden Warfare games.

The latest of these secret gems from PopCap comes in the form of a Dark Souls easter egg in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. A humble knight kneels to rest beside an iconic bonfire, hidden just behind the blacksmith shop in Seeds of Time.  Check out my video below for details.

New Blood and Wine Screenshots + Skellige Gwent!

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine expansion is almost here! Although we haven’t seen a trailer yet, CDProjekt has released a series of new screenshots to keep us drooling in the meantime.  I discuss the details of each screenshot in my video linked below, but I’ve also added an image gallery for you to view each image individually.

Also, during one of the PAX East panels, the developers revealed that they will be adding an in-game Skellige gwent deck with the upcoming expansion. About damn time! 😉

Honestly though, if the previous Hearts of Stone expansion was any indication, Blood and Wine is going to be amazing. My medallion is shaking, meaning a teaser trailer for the expansion is likely on its way. Either that, or there’s a monster in my room.

I’ve put together a video discussing the latest news regarding the Blood and Wine expansion. I will be posting more Witcher 3 updates as more news becomes available, so be sure to follow the channel to stay up to date.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 Mega Post!

It recently occurred to me that I haven’t made a blog post since the release of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. Time to change that!

These past couple of months, I have been so busy with work, YouTube, and meeting awesome people, that it doesn’t surprise me that I’ve slacked on my blog posts yet again. Sometimes I wish I had my own zombie minions who could help me get things done. Dr. Zomboss had the right idea!

Anyway, since I have been gradually rolling out Garden Warfare 2 videos lately, I figured this post should serve as a hub for those videos. To make things somewhat easier, I’ve embedded my Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 playlist below. On this playlist, you’ll find videos on where to find all 50 Snow Globes, how to solve the Gnome Chamber Puzzle, how to earn the Gnome Man’s Land achievement, and lots more.

In case you’re reading this at a time where you can’t watch videos, I’ve linked the playlist directly as well. Click here to go straight to the playlist without having the videos auto-play.

I have so many videos planned, so many ideas, and so many ambitious goals I have yet to fulfill, including things NOT related to PvZ. Keep checking back here for more updates!

Garden Warfare 2: What is the Backyard Battleground?

From new characters and variants, to Solo Play mode and Graveyard Ops, there are a ton of new features to look forward to in the upcoming load of awesomeness known as Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

However, one of the most intriguing new features revealed in the last few weeks is the Backyard Battleground. The Backyard Battleground is a personal hub area where players can customize their characters, accept quests from Heroes, and even go target shooting. What makes this hub even more unique is the ability to raise the “Flag of Power”, which essentially initiates a horde-mode in the center of the backyard that allows players to earn extra coins and XP for each wave the flag is successfully defended. The Backyard Battleground will surely keep players busy, and that’s not even the main aspect of the game. HYYYPEEE!

There have also been quite a few new Garden Warfare 2 character variants revealed over the last few weeks. Feel free to peruse some of my character variant videos below to maximize your excitement for PvZ: Garden Warfare 2!

In other related news, I got to do some very fancy top secret stuff with some very awesome people, ZackScott and MoonLiteWolf. Maybe you know them? :p

Anyway, we took these random photobooth-GIF-things and they got posted to the internet. Check ’em out here with some other hilarious ones from the PopCap devs. If I had one of those eMotee Booth things in my house, it would take up an embarrassing amount of my time. 😃

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone – Get to Know Shani!

There are many players who will be meeting Shani for the first time in the Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone expansion. So, I’ve put a video together to give some backstory about Shani for those who may be unfamiliar with her character. Are you excited to reunite with Shani? Leave me a comment!

The Hearts of Stone Expansion will be released on October 13th, and is the first paid DLC coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Check back on my channel for more Witcher 3 video content!

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Details + New Screenshots!

Runewords, and Shani, and Olgierd, OH MY! The Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone expansion is just around the corner, so I’ve put together a video recapping all the details you need to know about the new expansion.

I’ve also added some new screenshots to the video, but feel free to peruse the Hearts of Stone screenshot gallery below as well. Check back on my channel for more Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone videos in the coming weeks!
