Darksiders 3 Announcement, Trailer, and Screenshots!

If there’s one thing that could get me hyped enough to write a blog post after months of silence, its DARKSIDERS 3!

Earlier today, THQ Nordic announced that Darksiders 3 is officially in the works (their re-branding was a pretty big clue imo, but I digress). After literally YEARS of leaving fans in the dark, Nordic finally shined an extremely exciting ray of light on the Darksiders franchise.

Darksiders 3 is being developed by Gunfire Games, a team composed of a good handful of the ex-Vigil Games developers who worked on the original two games, so we know this third installment is in good hands. SO FREAKIN HYPED!

Darksiders 3 was announced via an official reveal trailer on IGN First. A few snazzy screenshots and images were posted as well, which I’ll include in the gallery below.

The Darksiders 3 reveal trailer displays a fierce, magenta-haired Fury approaching the Charred Council. If you’re not up to date on the Darksiders series, Fury is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse and is the sister of War and Death.

War makes a cameo in the trailer as well. He’s bound by chains, which suggests that this game takes place during his imprisonment just before he’s unleashed back onto Earth in the first Darksiders.

There’s currently no sign of the fourth horseman, Strife…at least not yet. Assuming this game is contemporaneous with Death’s excursion in Darksiders 2, it seems unlikely that Death will make an appearance, but so little is known about the game at the point that anything is possible.

I’ll be doing a more thorough breakdown of the trailer and what we know about Darksiders 3 in the coming days, so stay tuned!

Blood and Wine: Everything You Need to Know

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion is just a week away! HYPE MODE ENGAGED. I’ve put together this video to catch you up with the latest details on Geralt’s final adventure. In the video, I discuss the new Toussaint region, new monsters, new game mechanics and more.

Just as a quick overview, here’s a list of some important details you should know about Blood and Wine ahead of time:

  • Recommended level to play Blood and Wine is around 35 (or 64-ish for an NG+ playthrough).
  • Max level cap has been raised to 100.
  • Over 90 new quests, and 40 points of interest. Map is roughly Velen size.
  • Geralt gets his own damn vinyard, named Corvo Bianco. So jelly.
  • 20 new monster types, most of which are vampires. Pack some Black Blood.
  • Over 100 new Armor sets and 30 new weapons, including Witcher Gear.
  • Witcher armor now available at Grandmaster quality.
  • New dying mechanic to change armor color. And yes, pink is an option.
  • The armor sets from Witcher 1 and 2 are available.
  • New UI coming as an update.
  • New mutations that enhance existing abilities.
  • In-game Skellige gwent deck.

There’s a ton of other new features that I won’t mention here.  If you don’t have the expansion pre-ordered already, I suggest you do so, especially if you want to get the limited edition physical Gwent cards. I’ve linked a tutorial below in case you want to know how to buy the physical Gwent card sets.

I plan on making more Blood and Wine videos after the expansion is released, so be sure to check back for more updates.

New Blood and Wine Screenshots + Skellige Gwent!

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine expansion is almost here! Although we haven’t seen a trailer yet, CDProjekt has released a series of new screenshots to keep us drooling in the meantime.  I discuss the details of each screenshot in my video linked below, but I’ve also added an image gallery for you to view each image individually.

Also, during one of the PAX East panels, the developers revealed that they will be adding an in-game Skellige gwent deck with the upcoming expansion. About damn time! 😉

Honestly though, if the previous Hearts of Stone expansion was any indication, Blood and Wine is going to be amazing. My medallion is shaking, meaning a teaser trailer for the expansion is likely on its way. Either that, or there’s a monster in my room.

I’ve put together a video discussing the latest news regarding the Blood and Wine expansion. I will be posting more Witcher 3 updates as more news becomes available, so be sure to follow the channel to stay up to date.

I’ve also added some new screenshots to the video, but feel free to peruse the Hearts of Stone screenshot gallery below as well. Check back on my channel for more Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone videos in the coming weeks!

My Top Upcoming Indie Games of 2015-2016

Another E3 has come and gone, and so far 2015 is looking to be a promising year for gaming. From Fallout 4 to Star Wars: Battlefront, we have tons of new games to look forward to in the coming year. However, with all these big AAA titles on the horizon, it’s easy to overlook some of the great work being done in the realm of indie games. So, I’ve put together a list of my most anticipated upcoming indie games for 2015-2016 in the video above. Hopefully my list gets you excited for some new indie titles as well!

There’s a handful of  games that I left off this list that simply don’t have a release date in the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, 2016 looks to be a strong year for indie games, and I plan to launch my IndieLuv series on YouTube sometime soon. Thanks for checking out the video!

Is Darksiders 3 Being Made?

Nordic Games has announced that they have teamed up with Gunfire Games to bring us the Darksiders 2 “Deathinitive Edition,” which is essentially a remake of Darksiders 2 for Xbox One and PS4.

Since Gunfire Games is almost entirely composed of ex-Vigil Games developers who worked on the Darksiders games, it makes sense for Nordic to consult this small dev team for the remake. Nordic Games has mentioned that if they continue with the Darksiders franchise, it would need to be with the help of past Vigil Games employees to keep with the spirit of Darksiders and maintain the vision that the original creators intended for the series.

Although a remake of our beloved Darksiders 2 is nice an all, this has caused yet another surge of fans to inquire as to whether a third installment will be made. Many speculate that the reason for this next-gen remake is to prepare for Darksiders 3, which has yet to be confirmed. Fingers crossed!

PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 Announced for 2016!

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 has officially been announced, meaning I can finally spill the beans on a few of the details! Last month, I actually got the opportunity to play this amazing sequel at the PopCap offices in Seattle (which was an awesome way to spend my birthday, btw). I had a blast getting to know the developers as well as some other content creators, and we even got a chance to give our feedback on the game as it develops. I feel honored to have been a part of their event, and look forward to what the team has in store for PvZ: GW2!

What is L.E.A.F.? – Plants vs Zombies Teaser

Today, the Plants vs Zombies YouTube channel was infiltrated by a transmission from “L.E.A.F”. So who or what is L.E.A.F.? A covert team of undercover plant agents? Or is it something more deceptive?

A lot of people are speculating that this info has something to do with new DLC for Garden Warfare. However, the PvZ dev team clarified that the Legends of the Lawn DLC was the last major content update for GW, so these transmissions likely pertain to some greater PvZ project.

Hopefully we will get more clues to help us PvZ fans figure out the mystery of L.E.A.F very soon. Leave me a comment with your thoughts!
