Channel Update – PvZ Heroes & More!

Welp, after neglecting my poor blog for most of the year, I figure it’s about time I update you all on what’s been going on with me lately. It’s been mostly gaming-related stuff, and things are looking up for the most part.

Work it gurrrl

First off, I got a new job! Well, it’s actually the job I did earlier in the year, only now I’m with a different company. A couple months ago, I signed on with Greenlit Content as a Senior Writer, where I basically write about video games all day long. As easy as you may think that sounds, it’s actually quite a lot of work. As a result, I’ve had to slow down on my YouTube uploads because I simply don’t have adequate time or energy after work to record/edit videos for the week. I’m still plugging away at YouTube, just much more slowly these days.

PvZ Heroes & EA Funzies

PvZ-Heroes-Key-Art-Strangeluv-Gaming

In other news, I was invited by EA to their HQ here in California to preview their latest mobile game, Plants vs Zombies Heroes, about a month ago. Several other content creators were invited as well, including ZeroxFusionz and MoonLiteWolf. It was awesome finally meeting Zero for the first time after all these years of internet-friendship. We all learned how to become better content creators while having fun with this addicting CCG. The three of us had a blast, and I just wish that they lived closer to me so we could all collaborate on videos and partake in more karaoke shenanigans. ūüėč

I have since bought a tablet and adapter setup to start recording PvZ Heroes, so hopefully I will get that going sooner than later. I’m still sticking with Garden Warfare for now, at least while PopCap regularly posts updates for it.

IndieLuv

Lastly, I’ve been mulling over a video series for a while now that involves casual reviews of indie games. My current obsession with Planet Coaster has reignited my interest in doing such a series, so we’ll see if I can make it happen before the month is over. If you have suggestions for some indie games you’d like to see me cover on my channel, please let me know!

Dark Souls Easter Egg in PvZ: Garden Warfare 2!

I love stumbling upon hidden easter eggs within games, especially when they reference other games that I really enjoy. From Wind Waker to Dragon Age, the design team at PopCap have been really good at hiding awesome video game references throughout both Garden Warfare games.

The latest of these secret gems from PopCap comes in the form of a Dark Souls easter egg in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. A humble knight kneels to rest beside an iconic bonfire, hidden just behind the blacksmith shop in Seeds of Time.  Check out my video below for details.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 Mega Post!

It recently occurred to me that I haven’t made a blog post since the release of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. Time to change that!

These past couple of months, I have been so busy with work, YouTube, and meeting awesome people, that it doesn’t surprise me that I’ve slacked on my blog posts yet again. Sometimes I wish I had my own zombie minions who could help me get things done. Dr. Zomboss had the right idea!

Anyway,¬†since I have been gradually rolling out Garden Warfare 2 videos lately, I figured this post should serve as a hub for those¬†videos. To make things somewhat easier, I’ve embedded my Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 playlist below. On this playlist, you’ll find videos on where to find all 50 Snow Globes, how to solve the Gnome Chamber Puzzle, how to earn the Gnome Man’s Land achievement, and lots more.

In case you’re reading this at a time where you can’t watch videos, I’ve linked the playlist directly as well.¬†Click here to go straight to the playlist without having the videos auto-play.

I have so many videos planned, so many ideas, and so many ambitious goals I have yet to fulfill, including things NOT related to PvZ. Keep checking back here for more updates!

Garden Warfare 2: What is the Backyard Battleground?

From new characters and variants, to Solo Play mode and Graveyard Ops, there are a ton of new features to look forward to in the upcoming load of awesomeness known as Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

However, one of the most intriguing new features revealed in the last few weeks is the Backyard Battleground. The Backyard Battleground is a personal hub area where players can customize their characters, accept quests from Heroes, and even go target shooting. What makes this hub even more unique is the ability to raise the “Flag of Power”, which essentially initiates a horde-mode in the center of the backyard that allows players to earn extra coins and XP for each wave the flag is successfully defended. The Backyard Battleground will surely keep players busy, and that’s not even the main aspect of the game. HYYYPEEE!

There have also been quite a few new Garden Warfare 2 character variants revealed over the last few weeks. Feel free to peruse some of my character variant videos below to maximize your excitement for PvZ: Garden Warfare 2!

In other related news, I got to do some very fancy top secret stuff with some very awesome people, ZackScott and MoonLiteWolf. Maybe you know them? :p

Anyway, we took these¬†random photobooth-GIF-things¬†and they got posted to the internet. Check ’em out¬†here¬†with some other hilarious ones from the PopCap devs. If I had one of those eMotee Booth things in my house, it would take up an embarrassing amount of my time. ūüėÉ

I’ll keep my channel updated on any important information we may receive about PvZ:GW2 between now and the launch of the game, so be sure to subscribe!

There’s a chance that we will see more about Garden Warfare 2 at Gamescom next week, so hopefully I can glean enough info for another video. Thanks for watching!

Also, PopCap is at it again with those PvZ parody images! Today, the Plants vs Zombies twitter page tweeted some¬†awesome gaming mashups, including this Mirror’s Edge/Garden Warfare image called “Mirror’s Hedge.” There’s a handful of others posted on their twitter, so make sure to check them out.

PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 Announced for 2016!

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 has officially been announced, meaning I can finally spill the beans on a few of the details! Last month, I actually got the opportunity to play this amazing sequel at the PopCap offices in Seattle (which was an awesome way to spend my birthday, btw). I had a blast getting to know the developers as well as some other content creators, and we even got a chance to give our feedback on the game as it develops. I feel honored to have been a part of their event, and look forward to what the team has in store for PvZ: GW2!

What is L.E.A.F.? – Plants vs Zombies Teaser

Today, the Plants vs Zombies YouTube channel was infiltrated by a transmission from “L.E.A.F”. So who or what is L.E.A.F.?¬†A covert team of undercover plant agents? Or is it something more deceptive?

A lot of people are speculating that this info has something to do with new DLC for Garden Warfare. However, the PvZ dev team clarified that the Legends of the Lawn DLC was the last major content update for GW, so these transmissions likely pertain to some greater PvZ project.

Hopefully we will get more clues to help us PvZ fans figure out the mystery of L.E.A.F very soon. Leave me a comment with your thoughts!

New PvZ:Garden Warfare Montage!

Hey guys! Long time no blog. I figured I should update my site before you started to think I gave up on it or something. It really just comes down to me being a lazy poster. But no more! This is actually¬†my first post of the new year (mid-February, yikes!), but I promise to update my blog site more often to keep you all up to date on what I’ve been doing.

A lot of the articles on this blog ended up being more news-like in nature, but that wasn’t ever the direction I wanted to take this site. It is a blog, after all…I feel my posts can still be informative without sounding so formal. So, hopefully a more casual approach to blog posts will not only make it easier for me to post regularly, but also will make them more readable for all of you.

Anyway, the reason for this post is that I’ve put together a little montage of some fun moments I’ve had in PvZ: Garden Warfare over the past year, and I wanted to share the video with you. If you haven’t seen the video yet, feel free to check it out below! I appreciate feedback, so don’t be shy about leaving a comment.

New PvZ: Garden Warfare Action Figures!

Check out these awesome new Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare action figures from Diamond Select Toys! Thanks to the team over at PopCap, I was fortunate enough to get a whole set of figurines to show to all of you. These are some of the first toys that are exclusive Garden Warfare designs, so if you’re a PvZ fan, I suggest you pick up a set or two. ūüôā

These toys were released last September (I think), so you should be able to find them at Toys R Us. But if you wanted to order them online, you can get them from the Diamond Select Toys website.

Shout out to Rowland over at PopCap for hooking me up with these sweet action figures! You guys are seriously rad.

I’ve also received a set of¬†PvZ: Garden Warfare “Legends of the Lawn” posters, and PopCap is allowing me and a few other PvZ community members to giveaway a few sets of these posters to all of you! I will be posting a video on how to enter my¬†giveaway for these poster sets very soon, so stay tuned!

Which action figure is your favorite? Leave me a comment!

Extra Life Charity Stream: Help Raise Money #ForTheKids!

Extra Life Logo

UPDATE: Our Extra Life game day was a success! The PvZ team¬†managed to raise over $1700 for kids in need. As of this post,¬†I’ve raised 78% of my personal goal of $200, so I’m still taking donations¬†if you haven’t had a chance to make a contribution yet. Extra Life will be accepting donations through the holidays until December 31st.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who donated or came out to support the livestream. Extra Life has¬†helped raise a total of over $5 million¬†for children in CMN hospitals! That’s CRAAAZY! And, speaking of craaazy, the community has also unlocked the two rare sticker packs for Garden Warfare to celebrate our efforts. Hooray!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey everyone! I’m trying to raise money in support of the Children’s Hospital in Oakland, and¬†I need your help!
On Saturday, October 25, the Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare developers will be hosting a 24 hour livestream on Twitch to raise money for children across various communities. Several PvZ community members, including myself, will also be streaming that day in an effort to meet our fundraising goal.
I’ll be streaming during the late shift in the evening at around¬†10pm PST on my Twitch channel, and¬†I would love if you could make a donation to help me meet my goal! Every little bit adds up. Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids. You can¬†support a good cause for the price of a trip to Starbucks. ūüėČ ¬†Plus, your donation to me also gets added to the PvZ: Garden Warfare team goal for Extra Life. Awesomeness all around!
I initially set my goal at $100, but you guys have already knocked that out of the park this week. So, for the main event I’ve doubled my goal and raised it to $200. Please help me make it happen!
Even if you can’t make it to the main event on Saturday, you can still drop a donation anytime. Just click the “Support Me” button on¬†my Extra Life fundraiser page, or click here. ¬†Thanks in advance for supporting my efforts, and I hope to see you at the livestream!
BTW, if we get 1000-3000 concurrent viewers in the PvZ livestream between 12pm and 1pm on Saturday, all Garden Warfare players will unlock a super rare sticker pack! LET’S DO DIS!
